93 - Al-Duha

{1} وَالضُّحَى

1. By the Glorious morning Light,

{2} وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَى

2. And by the Night when it is covers,

{3} مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَى

3. Your Lord has not abandoned you, nor is he displeased with you.

{4} وَلَلْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنَ الْأُولَى

4. And indeed the Hereafter will be better for you than the present life.

{5} وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَى

5. And soon your Lord will give you until you are pleased.

{6} أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَآوَى

6. Didn’t He find you an orphan and gave shelter and care?

{7} وَوَجَدَكَ ضَالًّا فَهَدَى

7. And He found you looking for the truth, and He gave you guidance.

{8} وَوَجَدَكَ عَائِلًا فَأَغْنَى

8. And He found you in need, and he gave you your needs.

{9} فَأَمَّا الْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ

9. Therefore don’t treat the orphan with harshness,

{10} وَأَمَّا السَّائِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ

10. Nor yell at the poor who is asking for help.

{11} وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ

11. And speak with gratitude the favors that your Lord gave to you.
